Employee Spotlight: Bo Pearson
/In this month's Employee Spotlight, we are featuring Bo Pearson. π Bo joined our company in a sales role about six years ago, and has continued to grow his career. He is now our Head of Customer Success here at Volt, providing amazing service to our customers.
What does your job entail?
Mostly, I'm responsible for developing the strategies and educational content that helps more of our customers use Volt safely and effectively. This might mean creating courses that our customers take to learn about our product, or it might include consulting with our design team to help ensure our customers' needs are being met when we develop new features.
We do a lot of cross-department collaboration at Volt, so Customer Success also works with Marketing to make sure messaging is accurate, our Account Management team to make sure we're providing our customers with the right types of interactions, and our Product team to assist with testing and provide customer feedback.
What is the most interesting part of your job?
One of the most interesting parts for me is thinking about ways to get "inside the mind" of our customers and partner organizations. I have a coaching background, so I can naturally empathize with many of our sports coaches and athletes. It's more of a challenge learning about our tactical (military/fire/police) and corporate wellness partners and figuring out how to overcome the barriers that they encounter in their unique environments.
What is a day like at Volt for you?
Most of each day is spent working with customers and teammates, collaborating to understand problems and implement solutions. When I have uninterrupted time, I'm usually creating content or trying to improve our internal operations.
What is your favorite place where you have been on vacation?
I can't choose just one, so I'll share my top 2. First, itβs Whitefish, Montana where you can play a full round of golf, hike in Glacier National Park, visit a local brewery and catch the sunset on the lake all in a single day
Second, itβs Kauai, Hawaii where you can wake up with an ocean swim, grab coffee at a local plantation, hike along massive ridges in Waimea Canyon, and enjoy Huli Huli Chicken with live music for dinner
What do you like to do in your free time?
It depends on the time of year - my summers in Seattle are filled with coaching, golf, hiking, and water activities like paddle boarding and river floating. During the winter, almost every day in the city is grey and rainy, so I tend to hop around to different coffee shops or escape to the mountains for snowshoeing and snowboarding
What is your favorite dessert?
There are so many awesome bakeries all through the city, but my favorite dessert is the carrot cake with cream cheese frosting from PCC (our local grocery store) π€€
What would you do if you could do anything for one day?
I'd like to play baseball again. Not just play, but also compete with a season on the line and a stadium full of fans. Then, after the game, I'd like to end the day with a big dinner with my family and friends.
What do you love most about Volt?
Volt provides me with a unique opportunity to help people find joy in sports and physical activities on a global scale. I love working with all of my extremely talented teammates at Volt to accomplish this mission.
