Volt Athletics Elevates AI-powered Athlete Development Platform with Acquisition of ZAMA Health
/At Volt Athletics, we're committed to empowering athletes to reach new heights of performance, fitness, and health. Today, we're thrilled to announce a significant leap forward in our journey: the acquisition of ZAMA Health. This strategic move enables Volt to deliver both physical training and mental wellness solutions to athletes worldwide, signifying our unwavering dedication to holistic athlete wellbeing.
Serving nearly 2 million individuals globally, Volt has earned recognition for our innovative approach to personalized performance training. We spearheaded dynamic, AI-powered performance training and now, with the integration of ZAMA Health, we're once again breaking new ground.
ZAMA Health, led by Brendan Sullivan, has pioneered athlete mental health and wellness technology solutions. ZAMA’s commitment to supporting athletes through self-guided modules, educational programs, peer-to-peer support, and access to therapy services aligns perfectly with our mission at Volt Athletics. By joining forces, we're expanding Volt’s ability to impact athletes through not only physical training but also mental and emotional wellbeing.
As the former captain of Yale's track team, Brendan witnessed numerous teammates grappling with severe mental health challenges and eating disorders. Motivated by these experiences, Brendan founded ZAMA to support athletes and the fitness community, aiming to optimize both mental and physical outcomes for those they serve.
With the acquisition of ZAMA, Brendan joins the Volt team as our new General Manager of Athlete Wellbeing, focused on providing comprehensive support for athletes everywhere and empowering coaches with practical resources and education to nurture holistic development.
Together, Volt and ZAMA share a vision of building the world's foremost athlete development platform. By combining physical, mental, and social health technologies, we're redefining what it means to support athletes on their journey. As rates of depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges rise among people of all ages, our collaboration signifies an unwavering commitment to addressing the holistic needs of athletes worldwide.
And it couldn’t come at a better time. Beginning in August 2024, NCAA Division 1 athletic departments will be required to provide mental wellness benefits to their athletes, including education, access to mental health professionals, culture creation, and mental health screenings. ZAMA is one of the only solutions that can affordably fulfill this requirement.
As we embark on this new chapter, we're excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Our collective goal is to maximize athlete performance and wellbeing, ensuring that every member of the Volt Family can thrive both on and off the field.
Follow our journey as we continue to elevate athlete development together. We can't wait to share more updates and insights with you in the coming months.
